Ms. Florence Wangari Mugi Joined MG Law advocates as a pupil in Jan 2018 and was retained as a trainee advocate from July 2018 up until 14th Feb 2019 when she was admitted to the Bar. She was consequently appointed an Associate Advocate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department. Her areas of specialization include:-

Ms. Mugi or simply Flo as we like to call her in the office is involved in drafting and preparing pleadings, motions and other related litigation documents, conducting research and collecting evidence appropriate to litigation as well as coordinating, collaborating and supporting other litigation lawyers in court.

In addition Flo is also a Certified Public Secretary. She likes to spend her free time reading all kinds of books (fact or fiction!) that allow her to have an open mind and the hindsight to understand and view the world from other people’s eyes. She also likes to travel far and wide when time & money allow her to.

She has been involved in handling construction disputes, for instance she was part of the team that handled a case where a contractor was awarded over KSh 300 Million following breach of Contract by the Employer. She was also part of a team that successfully represented a residential association in the halting of the construction of a high rise building in an upmarket neighborhood in Nairobi before the Environment and Land court. She was part of the legal team that represented Kenya Railways Corporation in disputes relating to the construction of the Standard Gauge Railways (SGR) both in Court and at the National Environmental Tribunal. She participates in various transactions involving due diligence, investigations, preparing legal opinions and advice on litigation proceedings. ‘ She is involved in assisting clients recover monies due and owing to them through arbitrators in contractual disputes. She has successfully defended several clients against false criminal charges ultimately leading to their acquittal.
