Gerald Nyanjwa Opere is an Associate Advocate attached to the Litigation, Dispute and Recoveries Department. He joined the firm as a Trainee Advocate in January 2020 where he successfully undertook his articles of pupillage before his admission on 7th May 2021. Upon admission, he was retained in the
firm as an Associate Advocate. His arrears of expertise include:

Gerald is a lover of arts with affinity for music and documentaries. He prides himself as an avid vinyl record collector of all kinds of music both classic and contemporary. He also enjoys reading African Fiction literature and memoirs of prominent figures.
Gerald has been involved in actively representing, advising and resolution of disputes for both private and
corporate clients. Part of the assignments that he has been involved in include:
1. Drafting a Special User License and offering Legal Advisory to Friends of Karura Community Forest
Association on compliance procedures for obtaining a license from Kenya Wildlife Services.
2. Representing Paramount Universal Bank, NCBA Bank Kenya PLC and Caritas Microfinance Bank in
debt recovery claims and defence in Court and Tribunals.
3. Part of the team that defended Paramount Bank Limited in a suit for mandatory injunction against the
recovery of properties valued at Kshs 500 Million and successfully negotiated an out of Court settlement thereafter.
4. Offering legal advisory to corporate client on employment procedures and ensuring compliance.
5. Issuing statutory notices and confirming legal compliance on the statutory procedures.
6. He has been part of the team that successfully defended NCBA Bank Kenya and Paramount Bank
Limited on various applications and appeals at the Superior Courts.
