Ms. Maureen Kibatha joined the Firm of MG Law Advocates as a trainee lawyer in 2013 where she successfully undertook her tutelage, rising to the position of an Associate Advocate in the Conveyancing & Commercial Department in 2016. She was appointed to the position of Partner in May 2018 and is in charge of the Commercial and Corporate Department. Her areas of practice include;

She is tenacious in her representation of clients and resourceful in the development of strategies designed to look after their interest. She has had a lead role in advising clients on commercial and corporate law, property acquisition and disposal, property laws and undertaking in-depth legal due diligence.

Maureen is an ardent reader with a keen interest in autobiographies and history books. She regularly attends seminars and training sessions to broaden her knowledge and skills.

Maureen is a golf enthusiast and enjoys traveling both to local and international destinations to explore new cultures. She is also passionate about leadership and mentorship.

She is involved in drafting and reviewing an extensive range of commercial agreements; share and asset purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, grants of the easement and Wayleave contracts and offering relevant legal and transactional advice.


She played a lead role in obtaining approval from the Central Bank of Kenya (C.B.K) for a commercial bank license for Dahabshil Bank International Kenya Limited. She has facilitated the registration of trademarks for various companies including Daraja Microfinance Bank Limited and offered legal advice to multi-national companies on copyright and intellectual property rights.


She has been involved in facilitating the incorporation of companies, registration of business names, preparation of commercial agreements and advising corporate clients on regulatory compliance.


She Advices clients on Land Control Board requirements in respect of agricultural land, amalgamation and subdivision of land including liaising with the relevant authorities to obtain the necessary approvals as well as advising clients on sale or lease of commercial and residential units.


She is involved in preparation and registration of banks security documents such as charges, mortgages, debentures and chattel mortgages.
