Founded as a litigation and commercial practice, Mwaniki Gachoka & Co. Advocates has grown into a medium-sized firm with a commanding presence across Kenya's courts, tribunals and registries.
Mwaniki Gachoka & Co. Advocates was founded in 1993 by Honourable Justice Paul Mwaniki Gachoka EBS, C.Arb, FCIArb, a distinguished advocate, arbitrator and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. The firm was established primarily as a litigation and commercial legal practice, and over three decades has grown into a full-service, medium-sized firm.
That growth has been deliberate and sustained. The firm has expanded to Dispute Resolution and Debt Recovery, Conveyancing and Bank Securitisation, and Corporate and Commercial Law — from high-value arbitration and procurement disputes to complex real estate transactions and mergers and acquisitions.
Its medium-size structure is a strategic advantage: large enough to handle sophisticated, multi-layered matters for institutional clients, yet lean enough to offer partners’ personal involvement and the responsiveness that larger firms often cannot.
Following Justice Gachoka’s appointment to the Court of Appeal in July 2022, the firm continues to grow under the stewardship of its senior partners. The firm is led by three Partners and comprises about twenty professionals, including seven Associate Advocates, four Trainee Advocates, legal assistants and dedicated support staff.

Based in Westlands, Nairobi, the firm regularly handles matters across Kenya’s major centres through a network of trusted partner firms — so geographic distance does not become an obstacle to effective representation.
